The National Book Festival is Coming!!!!

I'm so excited! I love books and I've gone every single year since I was born. This will be my third! The Library of Congress organizes it, and from what I've heard their library is humungous!!! I think Daddy wants to have a collection that big, but Mommy keeps saying our house isn't big enough. As long as there is enough room for my toys and my books, I don't mind.

This year's National Book Festival is September 26, 2009 on the National Mall in Washington, DC. A bunch of authors and librarians get together and they talk about books. Daddy gets all excited about getting free info about new books just published, but Mommy seems super excited about some lady named Judy Blume. I also noticed some guy named David Shannon is going to be there. He did the illustrations for my How I Became a Pirate book. I like pirates. I think they are just misunderstood. It's on my short list of what I want to be when I grow up.

Here's a picture from my first National Book Festival way back in 2007. You can tell I was having a great time. It was also the first time I met Abby Cadabby in person!!! She was really nice. And her dress is really pretty.

But I'm excited that Mo Willems will be there. He writes books for kids like me. I keep hoping Santa will give me Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale and Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity. Word around Toddlerville is that they are really, really good. And it teaches you not to leave your Abby Cadabby in weird places... like the bookstore. Like I did a few weekends ago. Luckily, Daddy found her and we were reunited.

Times are tough...

So I got myself a summer job. I'm waitressing at "Sadie's Diner". It's a lot of work, but I think people have been happy with the food.
First, I ask people what they want. Mommy usually wants pizza. Sometimes she asks for weird toppings. She'll say, "Do you have pineapple?" Sometimes I say yes and sometimes I say no. It depends on the shipment. Freshness counts.

Then I go over to the kitchen, put some pepperoni and chesse on the dough, put it in the oven until it's done.

Then I hand it over. I try to smile, but it's really hot in the kitchen.

When she's all done eating, I ask, "All Done?" and take her plate away. Then I realize it's one more dish to clean. *sigh*

Then I do the math on the bill. Add it all together. Carry the one.... and.... then I hand the bill to her.

I don't like it when she stiffs me on the tip.
