I ponder deep thoughts with my Uncle Eric...

We have conversations about important things. Being 2 years old means I'm not a baby anymore... I'm a full-blown toddler. And that means I'll be approaching big steps like potty training, learning more words, and establishing my independence. But we talk about fun stuff too... like... Who is a more awesome monster? Grover or Cookie Monster? Uncle Eric is rooting for Grover, but I think Cookie Monster has some really awesome personality traits too. But Elmo and Abby Cadabby are most awesome. But I think Elmo is the best at interviews. This is him in Australia. Mommy's boss is from Australia, but she says he's just a big ol' koala bear.

I had a photo shoot on my 2nd birthday!!!

It's been a really busy couple of days and I have lots of photos to share. Mommy wanted to really capture me coming into my toddler-esque self and we had a photographer, Melanie B, take pictures of me and my family on my birthday. It was a lot of work. I had to smile, be perky, not pull my skirt up over my head. I had thoughts about the creative direction of the shoot. This is me sharing my thoughts with Melanie. I may only be 2 years old, but I do have strong opinions.

I like soup.

I like playing Shopping Cart all the time, but I particularly like taking the Campbell's Tomato Soup can off of the shelf. It's my favorite. I don't know why... it just has a certain look to it. But then a little while ago, when I was bored and looking stuff up on the computer, I tried to find some info on the Campbell's Tomato Soup Can. So I googled: Campbell's + Tomato + Soup + Can.

I'm really good at web searches for my age.

Okay, I didn't exactly use Google... in case you were worried 'cause I'm just a little kid. I used Kidrex.org instead. It's more my style anyway.

Turns out... some guy named Andy Warhol liked soup cans too. I'm not the only one who likes these kinds of cans. He did this back in 1968:

We all have bad hair days....

Well, this was mine. This was taken a few months ago when I wasn't feeling so good. For some reason, when I nap, my hair kind of gets curly and wacky like this. Mommy says I look like a mini-Art Garfunkel. I don't know who he is, but I have a feeling she was joking about my hairstyle.

Anyway, we had a bit of a bad hair weekend. Daddy and I went out on Saturday morning to get him some new shoes at REI. I was sick of my little sneakers and really wanted to be barefoot. Daddy was trying to tell me not to take my sneakers off and I was telling him to shut it (in the nicest way possible.) But I got myself into a tizzy and shook my stroller back and forth... and tipped it over... in the parking lot... and landed on my face. It hurt.

But I shook it off and Daddy took me home. But then Mommy saw me... and she got a look on her face. I thought she needed a hug. So I gave her a big hug. This is why: Grandpa and Naine are coming from Savannah, Uncle Bryce is coming from Cleveland, and Uncle Eric (who begged the U.S. Army for some leave) and his girlfriend Miss Aimee are coming for my birthday on Friday. I'll be 2 years old. Mommy planned for a nice photographer to take a picture of all of us with Grandma, Nana and Poppy. It's a big family event. Mommy had been planning this for months. But now my face is all scraped up. From my forehead down my cheek. I'll post pictures one of these days. But the good news is that it is healing pretty quickly and we are hoping I look okay.

But I feel okay. And that's the most important thing. In fact, I feel great. I mean, I'm turning 2 Years Old and The Birthday Fairy is coming to visit!!! How awesome is that?

I can't wait for warm weather...

As much as I love my Chuck's.... the reality is I like being barefoot more than anything. So, here's my self-portrait of my tootsies. My Daddy says I have my great-grandma's feet. He said hers were little boxes like mine.
I also can't wait until I'm old enough to paint my toes. I think I'll choose a pretty pink to go with my pants.

I'm a hungry (and growing) girl...

So when I get hungry, I just shove it all in. I don't care about the mess one little bit.

I find it really funny.
I think I still have some sweet potatoes stuck in my ear. And I'm certain there's some up my nose. Can you see it?

For the record....

This drinking out of a cup thing is WAY harder than I thought. I like my bottle. I put it in my mouth, I suck on it, milk comes out. I like straws. I put it in my mouth, I suck on it, water comes out. I get a cup. Chaos ensues.

You know, I'm learning about gravity. It started when I would try to jump off the couch and I would land with a thud. Apparently, this gravity thing is what makes me come crashing down. I've also learned that if I turn my cup upside down, whatever is inside of it comes splattering down on the floor as well. This is particularly interesting with juice. I'm not a fan of juice, so instead of drinking it, I turn my cup over and SHAZAM! Instant mess. I find this amusing. Apparently, Mommy and Daddy do not.

Elmo is a professional.

Elmo is one of my favorite actors. He's been in movies, videos, and has some great music. That Ricky guy is pretty funny too, but it's nice to see Elmo let his fur down and just be a regular furry red monster in pajamas.

Do you love cupcakes? I do.

I know a lot of people who read this blog like to make cupcakes. But this takes it to a new level. This lady makes pictures out of cupcakes! And she even had an exhibit at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

If you want to know how she did it, there's a video here. Fun Fact: It took 5,600 cupcakes to create this image of Presidents Obama and Lincoln.

If I could have a cupcake piece of art, it would be of Abby Cadabby. Then I could celebrate my 2nd birthday with lots and lots of friends with whole lotta' cupcakes! Yum!
