I've Grown Wings!

Well, not really... these are my fairy wings, but for now I'm using them as angel wings for Christmas. Lately, I've had a thing for Christmas Eve on Sesame Street and the song "Keep Christmas With You." It's really old (1978) and Mommy said she and Uncle Eric and Uncle Bryce grew up watching it.

I've even tried to do a little sign language like the other little kids. It's looks easier than it really is. But I do sing along. I have a hard time with the high note though. But really, who doesn't?

At the same time, I must emphasize to Santa that I've been really, really, really good this year. So, I hope he will consider the breakdown of gifts to be like this. That's Mom's stocking, then Dad's.... then mine. I think that's fair.

Mommy wanted Brad Pitt to sing me to sleep...

... but I got this instead. She even wouldn't mind having Sheldon (Jim Parsons) from the Big Bang Theory singing me to sleep.

I won't go to sleep easily until Brad Pitt sings me to sleep. Period.

I was thinking about getting a tutu...

... since I love dancing and jumping to the tune of Final Jeopardy and the opening credits of iCarly. So, I thought, "I'll Google it!"

This is what I found:
It's the 40th Anniversary of Sesame Street. That means Sesame Street is older than my Mom!!! The new season starts on November 10th.


If I could live anywhere in the world, I'd live on Sesame Street. It seems like a nice place, with nice little monsters. We don't have little monsters on my street. And I even like Oscar. He's just misunderstood.

But then I thought... there's more than one Sesame Street. So I did a bit of research. AND Takalani Sesame's Kami is on the South African Google logo! WAY COOL! You can see all the Sesame Streets around the world by clicking here.

Boomba and Chamki are from India.

Ieniemienie is from the Netherlands.

Abigail is from Israel.
And, last but not least Mexico's is Abelardo!

Indonesia decided to stick with Cookie Monster.... one of my favorite monsters.

Sadie the Astronaut....

Mommy sometimes goes over to the National Air and Space Museum for work stuff, and she brings home cool things for me. She bought me Violet the Pilot and Sadie the Air Mail Pilot, and both are very, very good. I highly recommend them.

But I'm thinking of doing bigger and better things. Like, going to space and walking on the moon. A few months ago, Mommy actually met an astronaut named Alan Bean. He was the fourth guy to walk on the moon. He's an artist too, which makes him even more cool. I also think Buzz Aldrin is pretty neat. I like his name.

I have a lot of names to learn...

I like learning people's names. Mommy and Daddy help out a lot. I ask the guy at Wendy's what his name is. And I ask the lady at the bank. And I ask the man at the store. I've met a lot of people this way. I just look at them and say, "Name?" and they tell me. Now I'm going to preschool tomorrow, and my teachers are Miss Penny, Miss Amy, and Miss Pilar. Miss Penny wears cool Converse sneakers like me. There are going to be a lot of other kids and I have to learn their names.

But then I learned that Mommy and Daddy have OTHER names. Apparently, Mommy is known as Stephanie and Daddy is Charlie. I like saying his name. Sometime I just yell it around the house, like Mommy does. "Charlie! Chaaarlie!!!"

And we have last names too!!! This is a bit overwhelming, but I'll get it.

When it was time for me to go down the aisle as a "Blessing", I brought Zoe to help make me be brave. There were a lot of people looking at me.


But y'know, I really love Zoe's style. She knows how to rock the tutu.

How I spent my 4th of July...

I'm still waiting for Daddy to upload some photos. But I had a great 4th of July! I went to Gettysburg with Grampa and Nainie the week before the 4th, and then on 4th of July weekend I ran around outside with my toddler pool / sprinkler. I got to wear my new bathing suit and everything! I was pretty wiped out after all of that, but I stayed up just for this:



And then all my favorite Muppets started singing! It was awesome.



I like singing. It's fun. And I love Rosita. She's blue and speaks Spanish. And her Daddy is in the military just like my Uncle Eric.

I still love Abby Cadabby....

But lately, I've been fascinated by Rosita. Her full name is Rosita, la Monstrua de las Cuevas (Rosita, the Monster of the Caves) and she speaks English AND Spanish. She's really smart. I also wanted to highlight her this weekend because her dad, Ricardo, is in a wheelchair because of something that happened while he was in the military. Mommy says that is why we think of brave soldiers on Memorial Day weekend. I'm gonna think of Mr. Ricardo when I'm munching on my burger and fries this weekend.

So now when I'm watching Sesame Street, I like to point her out and say "Rosita!" She hangs out with Zoe and Prairie Dawn a lot. I like Rosita because she's a pretty blue color and a girl, like me. And being a girl is awesome!

For the record, Mommy and Daddy don't give me juice boxes because they are terrified of what I might do with it. But I could drink a whole one in 30 seconds flat if I really wanted to.

Elmo was at the National Air and Space Museum!

Mommy found out after Elmo has left, but her friend Beth blogged about it on the Around the Mall blog. You can listen to an interview with Elmo about Space here. My favorite little red monster was there for the premier of Sesame Street’s “One World, One Sky” planetarium show.

I ponder deep thoughts with my Uncle Eric...

We have conversations about important things. Being 2 years old means I'm not a baby anymore... I'm a full-blown toddler. And that means I'll be approaching big steps like potty training, learning more words, and establishing my independence. But we talk about fun stuff too... like... Who is a more awesome monster? Grover or Cookie Monster? Uncle Eric is rooting for Grover, but I think Cookie Monster has some really awesome personality traits too. But Elmo and Abby Cadabby are most awesome. But I think Elmo is the best at interviews. This is him in Australia. Mommy's boss is from Australia, but she says he's just a big ol' koala bear.

Elmo is a professional.

Elmo is one of my favorite actors. He's been in movies, videos, and has some great music. That Ricky guy is pretty funny too, but it's nice to see Elmo let his fur down and just be a regular furry red monster in pajamas.

The Olympics inspired me this year....

I had no idea there were so many countries. Mommy and Daddy try to make sure I explore museums, different kinds of art, and sometimes we travel outside of Maryland. But then, during the Olympics, I learned there was a humungous world out there that I didn't know about. So I thought I would learn more about these other places. Sesame Street helps me with that, and so do Barefoot Books. I wonder how old I'll be when I get one of those passport thingies.

I've been working on my ABC's, and Mommy and I watch this video a lot. It's a really pretty version of the ABC's. I'm going to try to find more international cool stuff for my blog. This is Zulu... and those people live in South Africa.

Mommy is keeping me from the computer!!!!

I want to play with Elmo, and I usually do it on the Sesame Street website. Then I can watch only Elmo videos or only Abby Cadabby videos, depending on my mood. But now she and Daddy think I'm a little too into the computer. All I do is run up to it, point and yell, "ELMO!" But they were getting worried that I wouldn't play like the other kids. So, now I'm trying to prove to them that I can play like a normal kid. I play with my Ball Popper, then I run around with my pushy Lion, and then I look at a few books... but I really like the computer. A lot. Then Mommy said she was worried that I would end up a teenager with relationships like this one:

Since Mommy and Daddy won't let me near the computer... I have come up with my own plan.

They started limiting the computer about 2 weeks ago. Apparently they haven't noticed that since they started monitoring my computer time, I have "conveniently" started waking up at 4:30 AM and then proceed to yell. Sometimes they so desperate for sleep now, they plop me in their bed and hope I'll go back to sleep. Instead, I stand up, look down at him, and say, "Hi, Daddy!"

I'm going to see how long I can keep doing this until they give me back my Elmo Time.

Now Mommy is trying to limit my TV Time too!!!

Not cool, Mommy. Not cool.

I'll see you at 4:30AM.... on Thanksgiving Day so you can't sleep in.

Then I push PUBLISH...

And I'm done with that entry. Then I go over to Sesame Street and look at some videos. I'm still deciding who is cooler... Elmo or Abby Cadabby. I just got some cool Elmo pajamas, so I'm on a bit of an Elmo kick right now.

Still not sleeping well...

... and Daddy doesn't sing like Andrea Bocelli. *sigh* I'm going to give this video a try. I hope this helps me sleep tonight.
