We said good-bye to Grandma this weekend...

I was on my best behavior because I knew Mommy was going to have a hard time. She gave me time to run up and down the aisle at church and then when people started showing up, and I tried really hard to be good. Once the service started, I thought I should sit down with Cousin Larry and hang with him for a bit.

Then I thought Mommy needed my support since she didn't have her Mommy anymore. So I moved from Larry's pew to Mommy's lap until it was her turn to talk. She stood up and was about to hand me to Daddy... but I didn't think she should go up there alone.

So, when it was time for her to give her speech about Grandma, I held her hand and went up to the podium with her. Then I realized there were about 120 people looking at us! But I stayed with her while she talked (and I hid behind the podium when I got nervous). She needed a little support and she always holds my hand when I get scared too. I needed to reciprocate. After she was done, I also conducted the choir so they would stay on beat. Then I did a little Sadie-shuffle because the music had a really good beat and you could dance to it.

Overall, it was a really good day. Grandma would have really liked it. Remember... Life is Goo.

  1. Sadie-

You are such a good girl to help our mom out. She really does need a little support right now. Make sure to give her lots of hugs and kisses and listen to her!
I'm sending you lots of hugs and kisses too since I know you must be a bit sad. I know how you feel. My grandma just went to heaven too and I miss her a lot. So, lots of love to you and to your mommy!

That's so sweet of you to help your mommy out like that! Even though she's a very strong woman, we all need some support sometimes. Hugs to you (& mommy too!). Your grandma was a great woman and it was my pleasure to have known her.

  3. Oh, Sadiebug, I just read this post. I'm sorry to read about your grandma (please tell mom) but I'm sure you're bringing your family a lot of comfort at this hard time. Lots and lots of hugs will help too.
