Everyone wonders what our morning routine is...

We get up around 6:15 AM and after that it's go, go, go. Mommy gets up and takes a shower, says a quick hello to me, and then Daddy usually helps me change into one of my cool outfits. Then he gets ready for the day, and I try to check my messages on my pink cell phone like he does (only his cell phone is black). By 6:30 AM, Mommy puts stuff on her face that she says "makes her look pretty". And then she runs around the house looking for her iPod, a book to read on the train, and throws stuff in her bag.

By about 6:45AM...

... I'm thinking Daddy might be running a little late. I've gotten dressed, made a few imaginary phone calls to the office, and made sure I'm ready for the day. Around this time, I wish I had a personal assistant. Like, an intern whose only 12 months old and wants some experience. That would be cool.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day...

At least that's the rumor going around Toddlerville. I like eating a few corn puffs before we get in the car. I sometimes have trouble with the lid and Mommy has to help me.

Corn puffs are yummy.

The ones I eat are strawberry flavored so they have a little zing to them.

Once that's done...

Then I put my cell phone in Mommy's backpack, remind her that the garbage needs to go out, and then grab my doll named Dolly that's up on the counter. Then we get in the car and drop Mommy off at the train station by 7:13 AM while I down my cereal with some good' ol whole milk. And that's a typical morning at our house. It's busy, and seriously, if anyone wants to intern for me, I'm taking resumes. I'm friendly, play well with others, and I share my corn puffs. I'll also require 3 references.

Is this an "Orange" thing again?

Mommy asked me, very nicely, if I would put this up on my blog so you all could see it. She's excited about this movie (which means on "Date Night" I'll be hanging out with Nana and Poppy).

So... about these Olympics...

When I was born, I was like, "Good Morning, Baltimore!!!!"... and then I learned that Baltimore was part of Maryland, which was part of the United States. Then we sat down as a family to watch the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics. Then I got confused. Mommy explained that the United States of America is one country on the planet Earth, and that we share it with a whole bunch of other countries. I did not know that. Interesting....

So, I pulled an atlas off the shelf, got a bunch of munchies and tried to figure out what country all the athletes came from and how they got to China. But I noticed nobody came from Antarctica. Weren't they invited?

When Daddy met Mommy....

... at least that's how I heard it.

That is SO COOL!!!!

This is Richard Scarry's Biggest Word Book Ever!!!! Y'all know I love books. But, wow! That's awesome. I HAVE to write to Santa about this book. I wonder if he knew about this. I don't even know if it will fit in his sleigh... Oh... and you can get it here... or at Barnes and Noble. This is going on the top of my "Dear Santa" list. Is it too early for a "Dear Santa" list? I don't want Santa to think I'm greedy. That would be rude. By the way... my favorite words right now are "baby", "buh-bye" and "bobo" (which is my expression for the ever-so-entertaining belly button.)

Cookie Monster Break!!!!

I still love applesauce!! But cookie, cookie, cookie starts with C... which comes after A and B. And who is this Colbert guy? He's shown up on this blog a couple of times.

C is for cookie, that's good enough for me...

Dear Mr. Phelps,

My name is Sadie, and I'm a kid who wants to learn how to swim. I don't know how to swim yet, but I've heard you would be a good person to teach me. Will you be my coach? Mommy says that even though you go to University of Michigan, you will be returning to Baltimore. Baltimore is a nice place to live. I like it here. But I really would like to learn how to swim. Mommy also said you won a lot of gold medals (that must have been really, really hard) and that you are a very nice male specimen (whatever that means.) I hope we can meet soon.
Your biggest fan,
Sadiebug- future Olympic hopeful in the doggie paddle.

I'm voting for more toddler rights!!!!

I know Mommy and Daddy think they run the house... (actually Mommy does, but Daddy pretends he does). But I think I should have equal say. I never get to choose when I go to bed, or what I'm going to wear (although this outfit is pretty cute), and I don't even have a little freedom about this diaper-changing thing. I figured out how to take my diaper off... but I haven't figured out what to do after that. I'm working on that.

So when Mommy and Daddy get out of line... this is what I do....

I throw my ball at them.

They don't like that. I'm reconsidering this strategy.

This is my friend Owl...

She only comes around at night when I'm going to bed, but we hang out in the crib together. She helps me go to sleep by being my lookout for monsters. She has good very eyesight.

She chases me all over the place...

... until I get really, really tired and go to sleep. Owl is a good friend. Whenever I need her I say, "Oww-oooll" and she flies over to me. I just wish she had more energy during the day. But she likes be up all night. I try to stay up, but Mommy says that I'm supposed to go to sleep at night... and STAY asleep. I always feel like I'm missin' something. So then I wake up and yell, and then Owl tries to calm me down. She's good like that.

My peeps....

That's Zoe, Kasia (the one who likes blue crayons) and Tyler (he's younger than me, but he has more hair.)

And this is Isabelle, Kate, Grace, Cade and Vivian...They all have a lot more hair than me.

That's Vivian on the left, and Cade on the right... we are all cousins. It's all very confusing and I would need graphs and pictures to show how we are all related. Something about my Grandma's brother's and sister's kid's kids. All I know is that I'm gonna see them on Labor Day weekend and we are going to hang out. I hope they recognize me from last year... I've changed a lot...

Mommy really loves Harry Potter...

... and lately she's been reading Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Series. She's carrying around these big, heavy books everywhere. I understand she loves books... (so do I!!!) But what's so great about Harry Potter? I haven't read them yet, but I thought this was funny.

Right now, I'm reading the Belly Button Book by Sandra Boynton. I like poking Mommy in the belly button... then she yells, "BELLY BUTTON!!!!" and attacks me. She's a crazy lady.

Daddy and I visited Mommy at work for a lunch break...

And Daddy started talking smack about how he could totally beat me in a running race. And I was like, "Oh, no you didn't!!!" and he was like, "Oh, yeah I did!!!" And it was on!

It's all mental...

I knew I could beat Daddy in a race... it's all in my mind. So I checked out the course, got a new diaper, and got really, really focused.

Ready... Set.... Go!!!

I'm a speedy kid for my age... I knew I could take Daddy on...plus I train a lot by running around the house while Daddy just hangs out on the couch.

And then we were off...

First, Daddy was in the lead, and then I broke away and ran as quickly as my little legs could...

And then it happened...

I lost my footing!!! I bent my ankle funny, but it didn't hurt, but I lost some time and I thought Daddy was going to pass me..

I wasn't sure how close he was behind me...

... so I took a quick glance... and I wasn't sure if I was going to win...

I totally won!!!!!

Daddy was a good sport about it though... but he owes me a Gold Medal. And I expect him to sing the National Anthem. Mommy said that might not be a good idea. He sings... "creatively".

Beaker Break!!!!

I still think Beaker is a funny little guy. Just a little wired.

New Sesame Street starting August 11!!!! Yaaayyy!!!

Flashback to my 1st Birthday!!!

This is a picture of me, Mommy and Daddy near the end of my first birthday party. I don't know if you can tell, but I was a little pooped out after dinner with the grandparents and then the crash after my sugar high. My Abby Cadabby cake was yummy, but that sugar crash is rough! I also was so crazy that Mommy's hair ended up a bit frizzy after running around after me. We're a happy family... a bit tired... but happy. Kind of like the day I was born. That day totally wiped me out. Wait... let me get a picture. There... that's me all bundled up to go home. It was a lot warmer when Mommy went into the hospital. It took about 5 days by the time we left... and it was a lot colder then. That happens in March. Or so I've heard. Wow... I'm really tiny. I just remember being really tired. Being born is a workout.
