Wanna see me do somethin' cool?

Well, I thought it was cool. Mommy... not so much.

Apparently walking is okay. Jogging is okay, as long as I don't run into stuff. But climbing is a no-no. But I really like climbing stuff...so I guess I'll do it when she isn't looking. For the record... Daddy doesn't like me climbing either.

I also can't eat crayons, stick them up my nose, eat stuff other than mashed up food, throw toys out of my pack n' play, or rip up books and eat the paper.

I am allowed to look cute, smile a lot, laugh (I do that a lot and people seem to like it), take my shoes off if they are really bothering me (I do that a lot too), and practice my words. Mommy says to "use my words". I'm trying, but words like owl sound "ahwool" and then I add an "la ya la" at the end. I tend to point at things a lot and say "ah-dada". This confuses Daddy.

Happy Birthday, Tyler Miller!!!!

This is an old picture from when I first met him last Labor Day. We were both little babies. Now we are both big kids! He turns one today... but I wonder if he knew what to do for his birthday. I didn't. I texted Vivian and she was the one who told me about toys and crazy grandparents and cupcakes. But she left out what to do with the candle. Mommy helped me with that one. But I'm sure Zoe and Kasia will help him out.

I really think they should give us a manual for these sorts of things when we leave the hospital. Along with a list of things not to eat or put up our nose.

Note to self....

Okay, so I've learned my lesson about not eating batteries. That was an important one. But my cousin Kasia texted me the other day, and she tried something I have never tried. She "borrowed" her mom's cell phone and texted me this:

"Hi Sadie! I learned something today... DON'T stick crayons up your nose- especially the blue ones. It may seem like a good idea, but it broke off and now I've got one stuck up there. Be careful! Luv, K."

She's supposed to have it surgically removed today. I'll be thinking about her... and I'll be more aware when I'm at Bob Evans and they give me crayons. Usually, I just try eating them... but Daddy keeps pulling them out of my mouth.

My Mommy's Wish For Me....

Is that I'll be able to do this someday.... (I'm a people person.)

To see it in HD (which how it should be watched and really makes it amazing...) click here.

And here's Matt's story. Thanks, Matt!

Mommy said when I was first born that Planet Earth was kind of like a big party of people. I didn't really believe her at first. Now I do.

There are two things I'm lovin' right now...

Music and Dancing!!!!

Daddy and I listen to tunes in the car all the time, and Mommy usually puts on some mellow music before I go to bed. Right now I'm a big fan of David Tobocman. I mentioned him earlier in the blog with his awesome song, "Home". But you can hear his other songs here. Just click on the Album section and give The Jammies Song a try, or Gigi, My Pet Giraffe, or Buttons and Bows. Actually, I like all of the songs.

Well, when Uncle Eric was here, he took me aside and asked why I didn't have tunes on my blog. And I thought... "That's a really good question!" So, over the weekend, I started exploring my musical tastes. There's a lot of loud and angry music out there... and I don't really like that stuff. And I know Uncle Eric and Uncle Bryce are particularly picky and hope I have good taste as I get older. If you scroll to the bottom of this page, you can push play and listen to some of my favorite tunes. It helps the day go along a little faster and happier.

Oh... and the onesie I'm wearing says "Cute as a..." and that's a picture of a ladybug. Mommy made it for me after what she calls a "crafty moment" at Jo-Ann Fabrics. I like it. Ladybugs are cool.

Y'all are so FUNNY!!!!

Everybody had lots and lots of jokes about my little oopsie on Monday. Yep, I was energized after eating the battery, and I kept going and going and going. And I know I should have been eating vitamins instead of batteries if I really needed a little energy. *sigh* Mommy recorded a message on my cell phone so whenever I push a button it says "I promise not to eat anymore batteries!"

Miss Solanki made me feel better by telling me she ate a screw when she was a little kid. Mommy almost passed out when she heard that and started looking all over the house for stuff that might look yummy.

So we all had a good laugh about it. That's me and Sergeant Uncle Eric. Those Army guys may seem serious most of the time... but we had a LOT of fun together when he visited me a few weeks ago. I'll put more of those photos up soon. He makes me giggle. A lot.

It was an accident.

If you've been following this blog, you know I've had a bumpy ride into toddlerhood. I finally got that walking thing down, but while I was at Nana and Poppy's, I tried to jog and I ran into a door. You can see the result in this picture with the bump on my head.

But you all probably want to hear about my little adventure to the emergency room. Let me explain... Daddy and I were home alone and he was working. Mommy had found one of her old calculators and left it out, and I love stuff with buttons. I love playing with cell phones and tv remotes and Daddy's travel alarm clock. So I was playing with the calculator and I noticed this thingie on the back. I fiddled with it and poof! It came off. Then I found something inside! It was like a little treasure. So I took it out with my little fingers. It kind of looked like a pea except it was silver and shiny, and I wondered if it tasted better than a pea. So I put it in my mouth. Then I accidentally swallowed it. But I didn't tell Daddy because I didn't think it was a big deal. It didn't make me spew like peas do, and I didn't want to get in trouble.

So later that evening, we picked up Mommy at the train station like we always do. I was extra cheerful so they wouldn't notice I ate something I shouldn't have. But then Mommy found the calculator and the plastic back I picked off laying on the floor. I forgot to hide the evidence! Daddy looked all over for the battery and couldn't find it. They were on to me. So they looked up what to do online, and in my toddler book... and then called the doctor who told them to take me to the hospital.

I haven't been to the hospital since I was born! I was about to go to bed, but then I got to stay up late. They took off my jammies and put me in a little gown with koala bears in space ships. I thought that was weird. Panda bears in sailboats would have made way more sense. Anyway, we eventually went into the x-ray room. I was quiet and good... but they found it. It was floating around inside of me! Everyone was happy it wasn't stuck somewhere, but I still had to get it out of me.

So the doctor gave Mommy and Daddy some sort of laxative to put into my bottle. Then, yesterday, the little battery came out. Daddy found it. But the laxative didn't kick in until later that night. That wasn't fun. I got icky stuff all over my pack n' play, on my clothes, on Mommy's clothes, and then I had a bath. Then I spewed, and I got that yucky stuff all over my crib, on Mommy's clothes, and then they just wiped me off.

But I swear, it was an accident.

A word about bathtime...

I like getting in baths because they are warm. I also like playing with my Percy the Pelican and scoop up water and splash around. My bathtub is shaped like a big duck and it quacks when you pinch it's beak.

But I do NOT like getting out of baths because it is so cold! I try to look dignified while I'm freezing my tushie off... but I don't understand why it takes Mommy and Daddy so long to get a diaper and a onesie on me. I know they try to do it quickly.... but it isn't quick enough.

Father's Day is next week...

... and I forgot to blog about Mother's Day! Mommy and I had a special day together, and we started off by cleaning me up and she had me wear a new dress. I don't usually wear dresses because I trip over them when I'm getting from here to there. But this was a special day. But I refused to wear shoes. I'm a barefootin' kind of girl.

I wanted to do something special for Mommy...

... 'cause she does a lot for me. I hate going to sleep at night, and she made it a little easier by holding me for longer than she usually does. We listen to music and mellow out together.

So I grabbed the Jell-O box...

... and thought, "Hey, there's always room for Jell-O!" I don't know why I thought that, it just came to me. I looked at the picture and figured it couldn't be that hard to make.

Then I realized Jell-O...

... needs water. As you can see from this picture, I can't get to the water.

I was a little bummed about that.

Mommy said it was the thought that counts... and we'll make Jell-O when I'm older. She gave me a big hug and said she just wanted to spend time with me.

So, since I had to change my plans...

I thought we would read a little Old Hat, New Hat.

It's about hats.

People ask my parents what my favorite toys are, and they always say I like books and I like Jeopardy. Which is true. I like my toys too, but nothing beats a good book like There's A Wocket in My Pocket. That's my all-time favorite!

Then I played on the computer for awhile...

...I also picked off a few letters off of the keyboard. Mommy and Daddy didn't know you could pick off the letters until I did it. I started with the "i"... I've also picked off the question mark, the plus sign, and the enter key.

Mommy didn't look too happy when she realized I could do this. I can do other things too... like stand on my toy piano and try to hurl myself out of the Pack n' Play. My piano isn't allowed in the Pack n' Play anymore. I can also get up on the couch. Getting down is a problem though.

Maybe Mommy and me will make Jell-O for Father's Day... but I think he's more of a pudding guy.

My Goal for the Summer: Go to the Zoo

I'm a really lucky kid because I live close to two zoos! One is in Washington, DC and the other one is in Baltimore. I'm going to use my charming ways to see if I can get the parents and their parents to take me to one of them. I have to say, I am particularly interested in the Baltimore because of Samson, the Baby Elephant.

Sometimes I feel like a Baby Elephant. I'm big for my age.

Look... I'm a busy kid...

I know I haven't updated my blog as much as I usually do. Toddling is hard work. This is me and my new pink cell phone. I wanted to be like Daddy and answer his phone. Whenever it rang, I always wondered if it was Poppy or Nana or Grandma or Nainie or Grandpa or Uncle Eric or Uncle Bryce (who is DEFINITELY my favorite, but don't tell anybody.)
Then I noticed Mommy used a cell phone too. Whenever she answered hers, I would always try to grab it and yell into it (sorry Uncle Eric... I didn't realize my voice was so powerful.) So finally Mommy got me my own phone. It has buttons and music and she even records her voice on it. I like it when she records, "Welcome to Camp Sadie!" 'cause this is what I like wearing when I play Camp Sadie-- I color and sing and play in the dirt, and I eat applesauce.
Did I say Uncle Bryce was my favorite? I meant Poppy... tomorrow is a Happy Poppy Day again!
